Yes! That day is finally here when Google announces its flagship devices and the new OS it runs. The mysterious Android L that is Android Lollipop as expected, The tablet Nexus 9 and Nexus 6, the phablet. The entire line-up announced yesterday is truly impressive. The Nexus tablets are now manufactured by HTC which was previously done by ASUS for both generations, and the Nexus 6 by Motorola, which was previously done by LG for the previous two generations. Motorola has had quite a year, and truly deserved this comeback!
Android Lollipop is a big jump up from Android Kitkat. The all new material design, new animations, Notification style, better battery life and the OS being based on ART by default rather than Dalvik. The first devices to be running Lollipop will of course be the Nexus 6 and 9, but older devices like the Nexus 5, 7 and other Google play edition devices will receive it pretty soon.
The Nexus 9 is a pretty impressive package as well, replacing the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10. Has a sleek design with metal brushed edges, comes in three colour varieties- black, white, gold . Has a 8.9″ screen with an aspect ratio of 4:3. Also has HTC’s front facing Boomsound speakers, which is just awesome! Also has an 8 megapixel rear shooter and a 1.6 megapixel camera for the front. The specs on this device are just truly impressive:
Overall, this device is a beast! $399 for the 16 Gb model and $479 for the the 32 GB variant
Now, for their flagship, the Nexus 6! The game has shifted from the 5″ screen To the 5.96″ phablet. Even with the huge screen, bigger than that of the iPhone 6+, it has the same length, which is pretty impressive. But, in the thickness scale it measures a whole 1 cm, quite bulky! But, the better battery life covers up for it. Overall the phone is a expanded version of the Moto X 2014, with a sturdy design with strong metal rims. here is the spec sheet of this beast:
5.96” 1440×2560 display (493 ppi)
13MP rear-facing with optical image stabilization
