You know what they say, the best camera is the one you always have on you. Smartphones today are being heavily relied on. They have replaced countless traditional technologies. The increasing use of smartphones and their cameras have led to a revolution in the smartphone camera industry. The lens are getting more advanced every year and are now in par with point and shoot cameras. The only thing that take smartphone cameras a step ahead is the software it can be coupled with. There are millions of camera and image editing software in the app stores of Android and iOS, such as filter software, FX studios and many more. Also, a lot of third part accesories are available that only work with smartphones. All of this combined ,makes it an awesome photography experience.
Here are some of my best smartphone camera tricks and tips:
Ever wanted to be a part of a panoramic picture? It is now possible, thanks to the most crazy app ever made for a smartphone- Cycloramic. This is the first app that allows hands-free panoramas. Initially, released exclusively for the iPhone 5, it allowed the phone to rotate on its own using the built in vibrators, when in a standing position. Also, works perfectly with the 5s. For the iPhone 6 and Android phones, there is a lack of a flat bottom. Therefore the Cycloramic team has come up with a workaround for these devices. Check it out in the videos below:

2. Clone Camera
Clone camera is another awesome app available for both iOS and Android. The app is super fun to use as it allows you to clone yourself in a single picture. The app works nicely and the results are pretty good! Now, we can say goodbye to the complicated steps involved in photoshop to get the same results!
As we were saying before, smartphones have replaced a lot traditional technologies. With the boom in smartphone camera quality it is able to to take very detailed pictures. It is also able to take picture of small text without blurring it up. Therefore, it can be used a s a scanner for scanning documents in a proper manner, when one is not available. There are a lot quality scanner apps in both iOS and Android, both easy and very convenient. Scanner pro is my pick for iOS and CamScanner for Android. These app can also save the scanned documents in PDF format, JPEG is default.
4. Artificial Bokeh
Even tough smartphones today have great cameras, the level of bokeh it can created is limited because of the small lens. But, there is a workaround to take professional pictures with just your phone camera. This method best works for small items, that you might want to sell in ebay or any other e-commerce site. The trick is to place a the object in front of a monitor displaying a your favourite bokeh background. 5. Macro Shots
This one is a really special trick coming from an American Photographer, Alexander Wild. You can produce amazing macro shots with your phone camera without spending an extra dime. All you will be needing to do is to carefully place a droplet of water over your phone camera lens. The droplet of water acts as a macro lens, the results are just amazing! These are some I was able to capture:
Watch the video below for applying the water droplet.
