iOS multitasking has improved a lot over the years, yet lacks a lot of common functionalities like ‘kill all’, gestures and quick switching. But, jailbreakon devices always have Cydia to save the day. Auxo 2 was released for iOS 7 and made multitasking super fast and super charged with gestues and control center integration. Though Auxo 2 hasn’t been updated for iOS 8 yet, new tweaks have been released to make the iOS multitasking experience a little better. Here is the list of the best multitasking tweaks for iOS 8:
As you can see in the image above, the tweak cobalia simply lets you replace the the ‘favourite contacts’ section (whick no one probably uses) with system toggles. These system toggles can be configured according to your need. They can be arranged as per your preference. There are a lot toggles to choose from. As this tweak is still in beta, it is not available in the default repos. to get this tweak:
- Head over to cydia and go to the sources section at the bottom.
- Press ‘edit’ at the top right and then select ‘add’.
- Add the source ‘cydia.hbang.ws’.
- Now install Cobalia from the HASHBANG Productions source.
A new tweak that enables cool animation in the app switcher, quite similar to the popular tweak ‘barrel’. This tweak doesn’t add any new functionalitu, but, definitely makes the boring old App Switcher a little more interesting. Check out the video to know more:
Awesome tweak, but still a little buggy.
A brand new tweak inspired by the Facebook Chatheads. Appheads allows ‘chatheads’ like icons on the screen that represents the open apps. Tap on an AppHead to launch what its developer calls the Live View. Live Views are just as they are described, live snapshots of an app that can be interacted with. What makes Live Views so compelling is that you can quickly open and dismiss apps while working with other apps. That’s because the AppHeads for all running apps are always displayed around the left and right edge of the screen. Check out the video to know more about this awesome tweak:
Though the tweak is pretty cool, users are reporting it to be quite buggy at the moment.
A tweak very similar to the popular iOS 6 tweak ‘Zephyr’, which enables gestures for various multitasking functions. Gestures can be used to close an app, switch from one app to another by swiping left or right from the edge and can be used to kill all apps at once. Makes things really convenient and reduces stress on the home button. Check ou the video for more details:
Skip 30 seconds.
Last but not the least, this tweak simply lets you kill all apps at once simply swiping down a card. This is our favourite tweak in the list, as its the most simple and light weight tweak of all.
