If you’re Jailbroken you probably know how much functionality and aesthetics can be added to your device. Since the iOS 8 update a lot of our favourite tweaks are being updated and many of them already have been. That been said, we can now show off our new tweaks that provide us with a better iOS experience. So, here are the best jailbreak tweaks for iOS 8 that definitely fall in the ‘must have’ category:
One of the most popular lockscreen tweaks on iOS has been Androidlock XT, which was just updated for iOS 8. This awesome tweak replaces the boring old number pad lock with an Android like “pattern lock’, which is actually better looking and more functional than the actual Android pattern lock. Also supports themes for different looks.
Another awesome lockscreen tweak- Lockhtml 3. This tweak lets you add beautiful html widgets on the lockscreen, replacing the plain old stock clock. It is a paid tweak, but has a free alternative with lesse functionality, but does the job- Groovylock. Widgets for lockhtml/groovylock can be added from Cydia or manually using these instructions.
Similar to lockhtml, iWidgets and SBHTML apply widgets onto the homescreen. Helps spicing up the look of the springboard. In the below image the HTC clock widget has been added using iWidget.
Homescreendesigner is a tweak that lets you place the icons anywhere you want on the homescreen . any kind of custom layouts can be created. The icon pacement in the picture above and below have been done using this tweak.
If you’re wondering how the app icons look totally different in the pictures above, it is done using Winterboard themes. Winterboard allows you to change icon themes and other UI elements in iOS. Gives a better look to the OS.
Other System Elements
Bored of the system wide white colour on the stock apps like the photos app, settings app, itunes etc? Eclipse 2 can change that for us! This tweak gets rid of the ‘eye burning’ white from all stock and most third party apps and replaces it with dark colours like grey and black. Custom colours can also be chosen. This look goes pretty well with black iPhones!
Slide2kill8 can be used to kill apps in multitasking with a single pull down on any of the ‘app card’ in the list. Makes using the multitasking on iOS more functional. Want more toggles on your Control Center? I’m sure you’ve always wanted a cellular toggle on the CC. This can be done using CCSettings. This tweak adds a ton of more toggles to the control center such as respring, cellular, reboot, hotspot, kill backgrund and much more!
Hope you liked this list of the best jailbreak tweaks available for iOS 8!
