Yes, the above screenshot is of an iPhone on iOS 8 and not of an Android device. That’s the magic of jailbreak. Apple as we all know, keeps us from customizing our device the way we want it and that’s what gives Android an edge over it. But since we have jailbreak with us there is no limit to customizing iOS. Here you’ll see a few awesome setups and also will be able to learn how to make them yours. Before going any further, you should be jailbroken to achieve all this. To know everything about jailbreak check out this link. Now, here are our favourite setups for the week and how to achieve them:
1. Flatro Theme Setup
One of my favourite themes and setup. This was achieved on iOS 7.1 and can also be achieved on iOS 8, except for the signal and wifi logos, but will be doable real soon. Here’s everything you require:
Flatro theme from Cydia, available for free. Winterboard is required to run this theme (from Cydia).
Dockshift tweak from Cydia to make the dock transparent.
Homescreendesigner tweak is used to place the icons in a custom layout, between the lines of the wallpaper in this case. The tweak is easy to use. (Tutorial)
Alkaline from cydia to change battery logo with the theme Minimal Battery CS.
Minimal Wifi-signal CS (not updated yet for iOS 8) for the wifi and signal logos, to be applied with winterboard.
For the fancy clock and date widget, you’ll need a tweak called iWidgets. Also iFile for iOS or any SSH client like Cyberduck for PC will be required to place the widget file into the iwidgets folder. The instructions for doing this are given here. Once this is done, do a long hold anywhere on the Homescreen, choose the widget and place it wherever you like.
Here’s the wallpaper.
2. Super Glyphs Homescreen
There is a super in the heading for this one for a reason! This setup is a really special one.
Requirements and Instructions:
The theme here can be found on Cydia by the name of Gotham.
Customfoldericons is required to use custom icons for the folders, similar to the three animal glyphs in the middle. Instructions for using this tweak are given in video below:
For the dark boxes, the clock and the weather you’ll require to run ‘hybrid mod’ file using SBHTML tweak from cydia. The hybrid mod file needs to be placed into the SBHTML folder using ifile or cyberduck, using the instructions here. Download The ‘hybrid mod’ file here.
The status bar is same the one in the above setup.
These awesome homescreen setups can be coupled with equally cool lockscreens. So check these out:
It is real easy to achieve these brilliant lockscreens. All you require to do is to install Lockhtml 3 from cydia and place the 3d Box and the digital skull files into the lockhtml folder using ifile or cyberduck, same as above. Instructions here. Download the lockhtml theme files here.
The process given here does seem a little complicated, but it isn’t really that tough. It’s only a one time thing and then its really easy to change to new setups, definitely worth the trouble. This is one awesome way to make Android users go jelly. So, these were our best iPhone theme setups. Hope you’re going to like these setups and come back for more. Any queries?
