Gaming on mobile devices has reached new heights, almost console level gaming we can say. It all started with the legendary game called ‘snake’ and now we have games like ‘Modern Combat’. These games provide us experience somewhat close to consoles but don’t cost nearly as much. And there’s always the benefit of portability. It doesn’t end here. The option to use third party controllers and connecting games to large screens using Airplay on iOS and Cast screen on Android helps completing the experience. These are some of the best games that have been on these mobile platforms, suitable for power gamers. Some of them are quite old but, are still worth playing. Check them out:
1. Modern Combat 4
Yes, there is a Modern Combat 5 on both platforms but, Modern Combat 4 has a much better game play in my opinion. The graphics of the two games are almost identical. Modern Combat is a fist person shooter that gives the most immersive real war experience. It is the closest thing to Call of Duty or Battlefield you can get on mobile. The game also has a multiplayer mode which is pretty awesome. If you’ve been a fan of Counter Strike, you’re going to love it!
Nothing needs to be said about the almighty GTA series. The Grand Theft Auto series is a mission oriented game that also allows free roaming. One of the best games we’ve ever played on our consoles, now is in the palm of our hands. GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas are available for Android and iOS. The Gangstar series is almost a rip-off of GTA, released before GTA was released on mobile, was big back then. Still has a good gameplay, unique in its own way.
3. Asphalt 8
There are a lot of worthy racing games on both iOS and Android like NFS and real racing, but the Asphalt series takes the lead in terms of game play. Its not just about the action in Asphalt 8, but also the adrenaline pumping action. Also has the best handling among the competition. A brilliant game!
Build an epic roster of DC super heroes and villains and get ready for battle! INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US is a free-to-play collectible card game where you build a roster of characters, moves, powers, and gear and enter the arena in touch-based 3-on-3 action combat. The mobile version is nowhere close to the console version, but still fun to play.
The best graphics ever accomplished in mobile gaming can be seen in this game. Infinity blade is the game that takes iOS game a step ahead from gaming on Android. It is the first iOSvideo game to run on the Unreal Engine. In the game, the unnamed player character fights a series of one-on-one battles in a derelict castle to face the immortal God King. When in battle, players swipe the screen to attack and parry, and tap the screen to dodge and block enemy attacks. Upon victory or defeat, the player restarts the game as the character’s descendant with the same items and experience level. Now the game has two sequels, Infinity Blade 3 being the newest.
Another brilliant game only iOS users have the privilege of enjoying. This is a port of the console version of the game. The game hasn’t been updated for almost 2 years, but runs just fine on all iOS versions and devices. The game features characters from both the Street Fighter franchise and Namco‘s Tekken series. In the game, players select two characters and face other duos in tag team fighting matches, in which the objective is to knock out one of the members from the opposing team. In addition to the game’s multiplayer modes, the game also features a single-player Story mode with a plot revolving around a mysterious object called the “Pandora”. Haven’t given up on this game since it’s release. The original version of Street fighter is also available on the App Store. Also, an unofficial version of Street Fighter is available for Android users from the Aptoide store.
